Young Choreographer contest is continuing growing

(we are welcoming students and young professionals to present their work & ideas)

Girls Solo

Girls will be evaluated separately in each Age and Dance category.

Age categories for Solo:

-        Group A (age 7 – 9) Pre-competitive

-        Group B (age 10 – 12) Junior

-        Group C (age 13 – 15) Teen

-        Group D (age 16 – 19) Pre-professional

-        Professional participants (age 20 – 25)

Dance categories:

-        Classical variation

-        Contemporary/Modern dance

-        Free Style dance (Character/Folk dance, Acro, Hip-Hop, Breakdance and other)

Time limit – 2m 30s

*Pointe / No pointe rules for Classical dance division:

Group A – participants can dance on pointe by the teacher responsibility.

Group B, C, D – participants not on pointe cannot be evaluate for a Grand Prix.

Boys Solo

Girls and Boys will be evaluated separately in each Dance category.

-        Classical/Neo-classical variation

-        Contemporary/Modern dance

-        Free Style dance (Character/Folk dance, Acro, Hip-Hop, Breakdance and other)

Time limit – 2m 30s

Pas de Deux / Duet

Must be a girl and a boy.

-        Classical Pas De Deux (full pas - extra point)

-        Contemporary

-        Duet Free Style dance

Time limit for Pas de Deux - 10m

Time limit for Duet Free dance - 3m

Ensemble

2 dancers and more

-        Classical/ Neo-classical

-        Character/Folk Dance

-        Contemporary/Modern

-        Free Style Dance (Hip-Hop/Acro/Breakdance)

Time limit - 4m

Choreographer Contest

            Any choreography can be performed by any dancer (participant or not) and in any dance style.

            The new choreography should be created no later than 2020. The contestant can be age 10 and up.

Time limit - 2m

THE COMPETITION

Solo participants must be between the ages of 7 to 25 on January 1st, 2024.

RULES

  • The Jewels Festival will run the competition by groups.

  • Professional photographer works on the festival.

  • The audience (parents as well) is allowed into the theatre only with a ticket.

  • The ticket price at the theatre is $20 dollars per person for all days (cash only).

  • The ticket price online is $15 dollars for all days. Link on our “Jewels Store” page to buy a ticket.

  • Audience parents are not allowed to watch master classes or rehearsals on stage.

  • Pictures and videos are prohibited during the competition stage.

  • Parents are not allowed backstage, only volunteers and teachers with a badge. Please make sure that you order your badge through our web-site. Order your badge due October 10th, 2024.

ALL PHOTOS AND VIDEOS ARE PROHIBITED DURING THE COMPETITION!

Only authorized photographer/videographer are allowed to do video and pictures at the Jewels Festival.

Media Package Price if you order with your Registration:

For Soloists Performers Only

-        Pay $100 and receive pictures and videos of ALL of your solo dances!

For Ensemble (Schools) Performers Only

-        Pay $100 and receive pictures and videos of ALL of your ensemble school dances, including Pas de Deux!

We will not selling individual photo and video, only a Media package will be selling at any time.

If you decided to order a Media package from our website the price will be $120.

PRICE

*Registration fee - $100 (All Masterclasses Included!)

Participant's must pay the appropriate fee with the application or it will not be processed.

(if a dancer already registered for a solo or another dance, then no second registration fee will apply!)

The participant needs to fill out the Registration Form AND Entry Form for their chosen categories.

Classical solo (Girls & Boys separate), Contemporary solo and Freestyle solo all have separate forms.

Ensemble registration needs to be done by the school director, using the same structure.

Soloists who will be performing in 2 classical and 1 contemporary or free style dance category are qualified for the Grand Prix Diamond Award (cash prize).

 

Registration Fee - $100 (all master classes included)

-       Solo: $90 (each classical, contemporary, or free style dance solo)

-       Pas de Deux / Duet: Pas des Deux - $180 per couple per dance (classical pas de deux)

-       Ensemble:  Group of 2 – $50

                                           of 3 to 4 – $45

                                           of 5 – 6 – $40

                                           of 7 and up – $35

-       Choreographer Contest

          Participation fee – $50

Master Classes

  • We holding up to 8 Master classes during the festival. Mater Classes will be lead and observe by our Judges on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

  • Our judges lead master classes of Ballet, Character Dance, Contemporary and Break Dance. To attend Master classes please fill the Master classes Form. (Detailed schedule will be providing in a week before the event).

GOALS

Throughout the competition the jury will evaluate a candidate’s potential as a dancer by considering, 10 points each aspect:

For Solo

  • Artistry

  • Musicality

  • Ballet school education & Physical suitability

  • Technique, control, & coordination

For Ensembles

  • Artistry, Stylish, Character

  • Musicality

  • Synchronicity/School education

  • Technique, control, & coordination

AWARDS

Award ceremony will be held after the Gala performance on the October 20th.

Please do not leave the Award ceremony until the end for the group picture and picture with our founders, judges and teachers

-      The Grand Prix “The Konstantin Award” a main award of the festival

(awarded to the dancer or a school who captured all of the judges’ hearts, performed beautifully on stage, meet all the required goals and got the higher score - $500 & Crystal Award)

 

-       Grand Prix “Diamond Award” an overall award

(awarded to the dancer who got the best score and by the judges’ decision in each age category: Solo B, C, D, Boys, Pas de Deux/Duet, Ensemble - $200 & Crystal Award)

-        For soloists required 2 classical + 1 any other style dance

 

Awards evaluating by the best score in each Age and Dance category

-        Crystal Award 1st, 2nd, 3rd place

-        Medal Award Top 5

-        Diploma Award Top 12

-        Diploma Award Top 24

-        Crystal Awards for Professional dancers (1st, 2nd, 3rd places)

-        Crystal Awards for Choreographers (1st, 2nd, 3rd places)

 

Additional Special Awards evaluating by the judges’ decision

-        Judges Award (each judge will choose they own best dancer or a dance - Ballerina Award)

-        Best School Award

-        Best Teacher Award

-        Rising Star Award

-        Scholarships for summer programs 2025 will be presented by ballet schools.

Registration Process:

All participants need to be registered by March 20th , 2024.

Late fee of $15 will be applied for registration after the due date.

which you can pay by any of the above accepted methods.

All fees must be paid upon receiving invoice. All registration forms without payment are not valid.
