Albert Davydov was born in Russia and received his professional training at the Kazan Choreographic School. Upon graduation, he joined the Tatar State Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet, where he performed soloist and principal roles and toured extensively throughout Europe and the United States.
Mr. Davydov has received numerous awards at international ballet competitions. From 2004 to 2017, he was a principal dancer with New Jersey Ballet. His extensive repertoire includes leading roles in The Nutcracker, Coppélia, Don Quixote, Cinderella, Le Corsaire, Paquita, The Sleeping Beauty, and Romeo and Juliet, among many others.
Before becoming Artistic Director of American Youth Ballet, Mr. Davydov taught at Sharon Miller’s Academy for the Performing Arts and New Jersey School of Ballet. He has also taught master classes at Valentina Kozlova Dance Conservatory, International Ballet Theater, and other ballet schools and programs.
Known for his strong professional background and thoughtful approach to coaching, Mr. Davydov helps young dancers develop their technique, artistry, stage presence, and confidence.
In 2022, Mr. Davydov became an Executive Partner and Director of Jewels Festival. Together, Albert Davydov and Julia Vorobyeva form a strong artistic and executive team, continuing to develop and expand Jewels Festival beyond the traditional competition experience. Their growing programs include a full production of The Nutcracker, the Online Master Classes platform, intensive training programs, educational opportunities, and performances that support and inspire young dancers throughout the year.
